The Tom Basker Fund was set up in memory of Tom Basker, to facilitate research into the treatment of bone tumours. Administered by the London Bone and Soft Tissue Tumour Service, the Fund supports research into the causes and treatment of osteosarcomas and particularly into the causes of treatment failure. This research is done in collaboration with researchers throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

Sarcomas are a rare form of cancer occurring in bone or soft tissue. Bone sarcomas (osteosarcomas) particularly affect teenagers and young adults. There is an urgent need for research into both the treatment and the causes of this form of sarcoma. Due to the comparative rarity of the disease, research is greatly under-funded.

The Tom Basker Fund (Account Number 0412) is administered by University College London Hospitals Charities (Registered Charity Number 229771).
